Terms of Service

By using tovi.ae, you agree to these Terms. Please read them — they cover billing, refunds, AI limitations, and acceptable use.

1. Who we are

Tovi.ae ("Tovi", "we", "our", "us") is an AI assistant for UAE life, operated by Hades Trading FZE, Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates. Contact: hello@tovi.ae.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account, sending a message, or otherwise using tovi.ae, you confirm you are at least 13 years old (18 if you intend to subscribe to Pro), and you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our AI Content Disclaimer. If you don't accept, don't use Tovi.

3. The service

Tovi provides:

  • An AI-powered chat that answers questions about life in the UAE (visas, banking, housing, schools, attractions, etc.) in 12+ languages
  • A library of 750+ informational articles
  • Optional Pro subscription for higher usage limits and saved conversation history

4. Free and Pro plans

Free plan:

  • 3 questions to try without signing up (tracked in your browser)
  • 3 questions per hour after free signup
  • Conversation history not saved

Pro plan (US$9.99/month or US$95.88/year):

  • 300 questions per 24 hours
  • Conversation history saved and exportable
  • Priority response speed
  • Auto-renews until cancelled

Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers; existing periods remain unchanged.

5. Billing, renewal, and cancellation

  • Pro subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Tovi never sees your card number.
  • Monthly subscriptions auto-renew every 30 days. Annual subscriptions auto-renew every 365 days.
  • You can cancel anytime from your account page. After cancelling you keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries for ~7 days. If still unpaid, your account reverts to Free.

6. Refunds

  • 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time annual subscribers. Contact us within 14 days of your initial annual payment for a full refund.
  • Monthly subscriptions: not refundable. You can cancel any time to stop the next charge.
  • Mid-period cancellations (annual after 14 days, or monthly): no pro-rated refund — you retain access until period end.
  • Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically arrive in 5-10 business days.
  • Fraudulent chargebacks may result in account termination and a permanent ban.

7. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use Tovi to plan or commit anything illegal under UAE law
  • Attempt to extract the underlying AI model, prompts, or training data
  • Send messages designed to bypass safety filters or generate harmful content
  • Use Tovi to harass, defame, or impersonate any person or entity
  • Send spam, phishing, malware, or automated bulk requests
  • Scrape the site, automate signups, or share Pro account credentials
  • Attempt to compromise the service (security testing, DoS, exploits)
  • Resell Tovi access without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe violations (illegal content, fraud, security attacks) result in immediate termination without refund.

8. AI-generated content — your responsibility

Every Tovi response is generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date — especially for visa rules, fees, and legal matters that change frequently. You are responsible for verifying information before acting on it with the relevant UAE authority (ICP, MOHRE, RTA, DHA, KHDA, GDRFA, FTA, etc.).

9. Intellectual property

  • The Tovi name, logo, design, and information articles are owned by Hades Trading FZE.
  • You may quote and link to our articles for personal, journalistic, or educational use with attribution.
  • You may NOT republish our articles in bulk, train AI models on them, or use them for a competing commercial service.
  • AI-generated chat responses to your questions belong to you — you can use, copy, share, or delete them freely.
  • Shared answer permalinks (/share/...) you create are public; anyone with the link can view them.

10. Account security

  • You're responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us at hello@tovi.ae if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • One account per person; do not share credentials.

11. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but make no guarantee. Tovi may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, third-party outages (xAI, Stripe, hosting), or unexpected issues. We are not liable for losses caused by service downtime.

Pro features are billed regardless of brief interruptions. Sustained outages over 7 consecutive days for paid users will be credited proportionally on request.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time from /account or by emailing us. Your conversation history is deleted within 7 days of closure.

We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent payment activity, or legal compliance reasons. We will refund any unused, prepaid time on annual plans unless termination is for a serious violation.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

Tovi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI responses, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by UAE law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of Tovi shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities) even if foreseeable.

Some jurisdictions don't allow this limitation; in those, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hades Trading FZE and Tovi from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through your use.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site and emailed to active accounts at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Tovi after changes means you accept them. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

17. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ajman Free Zone, UAE.
