After 60 days the daily rate stays AED 50, but ICP may add a fixed AED 600 administrative fee and can refuse future visa applications until the total is cleared.

Who Pays and When the Fine Applies

Anyone holding a visit visa, tourist visa, residence visa, or entry stamp is liable once the permitted stay ends. Sponsors are not automatically responsible, yet employers often deduct the amount from final dues for residence-visa holders.

Minors under 18 pay the same AED 50 daily rate. Family sponsors must settle the full amount before the child can exit or renew status.

How to Calculate Your Total Fine

Log into the ICP smart services portal or the ICP app with your Emirates ID or passport number. The system shows the exact number of overstay days and the running total in AED.

If you cannot access the portal, visit an ICP service centre or Amer centre with your passport. Staff print an official statement listing the daily charges and any extra fees.

Payment Methods and Deadlines

Pay online through the ICP portal using a UAE debit or credit card. The portal accepts payments 24 hours a day and issues an instant clearance receipt.

At Amer centres and ICP branches you can pay by card or cash. Keep the printed receipt; airlines and immigration officers may ask to see it before departure.

Settle the fine before booking an onward flight. Airlines check ICP records at check-in and can refuse boarding until the amount is paid.

Clearing Status and Avoiding a Travel Ban

Once the fine is paid, your status updates within minutes on the ICP system. You can then apply for a new visa or exit the country without further penalty.

If the overstay exceeds six months, ICP may impose a one-year ban. Pay the fine promptly and file a waiver request through ICP if you have valid medical or family reasons.
