The mosque welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Fridays open only after the 1:00 PM prayer until 7:00 PM. Arrive early on weekdays to avoid crowds. Sunset visits offer cooler weather and softer light for photos.

Dress Code Requirements

Both men and women must cover shoulders, knees, and wear loose clothing. Women need a headscarf. Free abayas and scarves are available at the entrance for those without suitable attire. Shoes must be removed before entering prayer halls. Security staff check compliance at every gate.

Free Guided Tours

English tours run every 30 minutes from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tours last about 45 minutes and cover the mosque history, architecture, and cultural context. No booking is required. Groups meet near the main information desk. Children under 12 are welcome but must stay with adults.

Photography Rules

Personal photography is allowed in public areas. Tripods, drones, and professional lighting need prior approval from mosque management. Never photograph people praying or use flash inside prayer halls. Selfie sticks are restricted near the main dome to protect marble surfaces.

Getting There and Practical Tips

Take the Abu Dhabi Bus A1 or the E11 highway by car. Parking is free in the underground lot. RTA taxis from Abu Dhabi city centre cost around 50-70 AED. Bring water, especially in summer months. The mosque provides shaded waiting areas and cold drinking fountains. Women travelling alone can request female guides during tours.
