Carry at least 1.5 litres of water per person, even in winter. Summer rides should start before 7 am to avoid 42-degree heat. Dubai Civil Defence now runs seasonal first-aid posts at the dam car park from October to April.

Getting There and Parking

From Dubai, take the E44 to Hatta Road then follow brown tourist signs. Free parking for 150 vehicles is available at the main trailhead; overflow uses a secondary lot 400 m further along the dam road. RTA buses run from Ibn Battuta every Friday and Saturday morning for 25 AED return. No fuel stations exist inside the enclave, so fill up in Al Aweer before the final 30 km climb.

Best Times and Local Rules

October to March offers the most comfortable temperatures between 18 and 28 degrees. Trails close after heavy rain; check the Dubai Tourism Instagram feed the night before.
